Mario has been coaching indoor and beach volleyball at the high school and club level since 2011. From 2011-2016, he served as a National Team Head Coach (U14-U16) and the Assistant Technical Director for Delaware Volleyball Academy (DVA), as well as the Technical Director for the DVA Beach Volleyball Program. Several of his players have qualified to play at the Junior Beach Nationals with top 10 finishes in their respective age groups.

Mario has 30+ years of volleyball experience. From 1985-1987 he played for the University of Pennsylvania Men’s Volleyball Team as an outside hitter and defensive specialist. He was the Coach/Captain of the U. Penn Chinese Men’s Club Team, which was a high-level student team with a collegiate tournament schedule. After graduation, he played for several USAV Men’s AA/A Club teams as an all-purpose utility player, filling in at whatever position was required by the team. He also has 25+ years of grass/beach doubles tournament experience, playing at the Open/AA/A level and continues to play competitively.

Synergy Volleyball is committed to growing the game of volleyball throughout the Philadelphia region, from the city to the suburbs, for the young and the old. Our new facility gives us the opportunity to build a tremendous community resource for Philadelphia. We look forward to building relationships with all levels of the Greater Philadelphia community through our club program, training, events, leagues and service projects.

Our new logo was designed to showcase our commitment to becoming the Home of Philadelphia Volleyball. The skyline represents the city of Philadelphia, the heart of who we are. Each star represents the surrounding counties. The outer circle shows that we are all united as one front—Synergy, the Home of Philadelphia Volleyball!
